Cruise Blog - 01
Alrighty, I’m here in Miami. TIRED. After spending $100 on cabs & checked luggage I made it to Bayside. I’m bout to catch up with homebase, DJ Impulse, so he can give me the scoop on what to do & what not to do on this boat. We were both happy to see each other, in a “NO HOMO” friend way. He’s been stuck out here for a month & since I’ve been in LA, we don’t get to kick it as often. Seeing a familiar face & sharing some laughs was just the right thing before hopping on this boat & not knowing anyone.
We had some cuban breakfast, banged on a Starbucks, talked about some ducky shopping spots & away we both went. I got situated on the Norwegian Sky & all the staff was very welcoming so far. The cabin is cool, nothing fancy but comfy enough to not to make you feel trapped. There’s a little TV which shows the front of the boat at all times. It’s actually quite calming to watch the sunrise & set or to watch the boat move through the water. At night, it’s pretty much pitch black but during the day, it’s pretty cool. There’s bunk beds, some closets, a tiny bathroom with shower, 2 chairs & 1 desk. The boat is a pretty massive, even though it’s less then half the size of the Royal Caribbean Cruise some of the homies played on. My room is in a really ill location, it’s really close to the Atrium which is like the lobby of the boat or like the middle of everything.
I played last night in the one of the clubs. I think it was called Dazzle’s Cabaret or something. LOL. It was a Hip Hop/R&B/Top 40 type party. Easy gig for sure. I only played for an 1hr & 30min. They have us on this janky ass Numark mixer. Not sure who’s idea that was but that mixer blows & puts out an awful sound. The people were really good though. Everyone danced & had a good time. I spent a good part of Monday sleeping. I was so tired & the boat was rocking really bad. I didn’t get seasick but it was making me really drowsy.
I woke up today around 1pm, rushed to have some food & to hurry up & get off the boat because I thought we were in Nassau. Nassau = FREE INTERNET. However, we’re in Freeport & there isn’t SHIT out here. I didn’t find that out until after I was off the boat. So back i went & I’m in my room writing this out. I’ll play again tonight for this 70’s/80’s party which I’m looking forward to & hopefully we get to Nassau soon!!!!!
